"Compostelle" Knife

Horn handled French locking knife

This is a slightly longer than usual folder, measuring just over 9" when opened, yet is light enough to carry on your person. Visually striking and a pleasure to hold, with curves that fit to the fingers. The side locking mechanism is responsive and intuitive. The style is named after the famous Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle pilgrimage route in France and Spain. Action can be fine-tuned to your preference by means of a small tightening axis, stamped with the image of a shell, the symbol of St. Jacques (tightening tool is included). A pocket knife is a tool that this writer has used from an early age- whittling, trimming, etc. However, I certainly didn't have a beauty like this one, made in France- with smoothly shaped horn scales and lovely file work on the spine. Whether for yourself or someone else, this is a finely made tool to treasure.
