We sell a broad assortment of high-quality splitting hatchets, axes, and mauls here at Garrett Wade, but we realized we wanted to offer some of our customers a woodcutting tool of the same substantial effectiveness, but in a slightly lighter design, for folks who may find our heaver ones a bit unwieldy to use with ease or long periods of time. Our Garrett Wade “midi” hits a sweet spot: a midweight splitting axe with a tough, well-shaped beechwood handle and a steel head whose wickedly sharp blade will help you power through cord after cord of firewood this winter and the ones to come. Well balanced, durable, and featuring a distinctive diamond shaped splitting head whose broad cheeks force the wood apart as it drives through your logs. Dimensions: 27 ¾” L overall. The head is 6 ¼” L with a 2 ⅞” cutting edge. Weighs 2 ¾ lbs. Made in Poland.
