A Great Choice for a Retro Analog Outdoor Thermometer
"Forking out the cabbage to buy this thermometer makes one take pause on the sensibility of making such a purchase. However, once received there are no regrets. This thermometer is a beautifully designed retro product that is accurate and, due to its huge size, quite easy to read. I checked accuracy using a calibrated Thermoworks digital thermometer. The ""error"" is within 0. 5F which is at the accuracy limit to which the analog scale of this device can practically be read. My only nitpick is that the brass mounting brackets would have more of a quality feel in a slightly heavier metal gauge. Nonetheless, the product is adequately supported by the mounting bracket supplied. Maybe it's just an OCD thing with me. . . . :)"

Not Worth The Money
"This thermometer was a major disappointment. I had waited a lifetime to own a quality instrument such as this, and expected the best from Garrett Wade and Conant, but the product is inferior and overpriced. The tubing appears acrylic rather than glass. The thermometer card is held in place by a piece of foam that had already curled up to be visible through the tube and will certainly degrade and not be able to perform its function over time. The mercury level itself is difficult to read, requiring one to be within one degree of 360 in order to view it. It’s impossible at distance, which is why I got such a big instrument in the first place. The most disappointing part? Conant’s reaction when contacted, and no follow-up from Garrett Wade when I first reviewed the item. I will not repeat these mistakes."
