Description

We don’t often find an item that looks and feels equally at home on the hiking trail and at the opera house, but these Brass Folding Binoculars could make that transition with very little effort. With more than a hint of Victorian style and ingenuity, these brass looking glasses snap securely closed when not in use, forming their own sturdy carrying case; to open, simply twist the knob on the side, the case opens, and the lenses tilt up into position, ready to use. Such a simple fun mechanism. Measuring 4 ¾” x 3 ¾” when closed, these slip easily into a backpack or suit-coat pocket, and the brass adds a touch of rugged, old-world class. Great for spotting birds, stargazing, or just for carrying around town when you’re feeling curious about the world around you. Sturdy enough for the whole family to use, they’ll be enjoyed anywhere you go. Magnification is 10X.

I find that with my

"I find that with my vision problems, I have a hard time with getting them to focus on what I'm trying to look at."

Not impressed

"I give 3 stars for the all-brass construction but otherwise I did not find these impressive. The magnification is supposedly 8x, but objects only look slightly closer. I own a pair of 8x birding binoculars so I know what 8x magnification should look like and this is not it. The eyepieces are also too close together and are not adjustable, and the fields of view for each eye overlap and are very small. These are perhaps more elegant-looking for formal occasions but they're not practical enough to be worth keeping, so I'm sending them back."

I had high hopes for

"I had high hopes for these as a gift for my partner, to match his brass compass, but I was very disappointed. There is next to no magnification, and the case looks like very cheap brass. I returned them. The folding mechanism seemed well put together and sturdy. The items I have ordered from this company in the past were all exceptional."
