I love your fruit picker. I use it for avocados and it really couldn’t be any easier. The catch bag allows for picking three or four pieces at a time with no chance of damaging the fruit or it falling and breaking on the ground. It is also really well constructed.

The Design

Every Detail, Considered

Annotated diagram of the Telescopic Fruit Picker showing all four key components

The Collection Bag

Canvas bag holds up to ten apples, pears, or plums without bruising. Fruit drops gently from the cutter into the bag. Detachable for easy emptying between trips.

The Telescoping Pole

Lightweight aluminum extends from collapsed to the full ten feet. Twist-lock mechanism holds firmly at any length you set. Corrosion-resistant and built for seasons of use.

The Grip Support

Secondary handle positioned for two-hand stability at full extension. Reduces fatigue during long picking sessions. Keeps the pole steady when reaching for difficult fruit.

The Cutting Mechanism

Squeeze the handgrip at the bottom, the cutter at the top snips the stem. A cable runs internally through the pole. No pulling, twisting, or bruising. One clean cut.

The Material

Aluminum That Works for You, Not Against You

The pole is the backbone of any fruit picker, and most cheap versions get it wrong. Wooden poles are heavy and rot. Steel poles are strong but exhausting at full extension. This picker uses anodized aluminum — the same material used in professional-grade extension poles — because it strikes the only balance that matters: strong enough to hold, light enough to use all afternoon.

At 2.85 pounds fully assembled, you can extend it to ten feet and hold it overhead with one hand. The twist-lock mechanism lets you set it at any length and holds firm. No wobble, no slip, no fighting the tool while you work.

The Mechanism

One Squeeze. Clean Cut. No Bruising.

Here is the problem with most fruit harvesting: you either shake the tree and hope for the best, or you climb a ladder with a bag and pick one at a time. Shaking bruises everything it touches. Ladders are slow and dangerous. Neither respects the fruit or the person doing the work.

The cutting mechanism on this picker is cable-actuated. Squeeze the handgrip at the bottom of the pole, and the cutter at the top snips the stem cleanly. The fruit drops into the collection bag immediately below. No yanking, no twisting. The stem is cut, the fruit is caught, and you move to the next one. You can pick ten apples in the time it takes to reposition a ladder once.

The Harvest

Ten Apples at a Time, Not One

The canvas collection bag is not an afterthought. It is positioned directly below the cutter so that every piece of fruit drops gently into it the moment the stem is snipped. No free-fall from ten feet. No bruised fruit hitting the ground. The bag catches it.

It holds up to ten apples — or the equivalent in pears, plums, citrus, or peaches — before you need to empty it. The bag detaches from the frame for easy emptying. Fill a bushel without climbing a single rung. When the season is over, the bag is washable and the picker collapses for compact storage.

Excellent tool!

"I have a very tall persimmon tree and it is full of fruit. This gadget was the solution for my problem! It is a bit heavy or I am probably a bit old to work with it. But I solve the problem by just emptying the bacg every few minutes! It is well worth the money I spent for it!"

Just the thing!!

"I am very happy with the fruit picker. I knew what I wanted and this was the only one I could find. I was impressed with the quality of it. I was concerned that it would be flimsy aluminum like so many tools I have bought online but it is sturdy and well made. I hope to use it for many years to come. Thank you!!"

Shirley K. (5/5)

Q&A

Do you sell a replacement bag for this fruit picker?
Becky, mailed today USPS. John
Will this work for hayachi persimmons?
Ann, we havent tried it with persimmons. Their stems may be a bit thick for this tool. It works great with apples plums etc . Fruit with small stems. Thankyou.
Hi! Does the tool compact down for shipping? I want to bring it with me in my suitcase to Costa Rica. How short can it get? Thank you
Christy, the shortest length of the tool is 69". Thank you.
Hi - what is the total weight of the 11G12.18 Telescopic Fruit Picker? Also, what are the dimensions of the bag? Thanks! --Dan
Daniel, it weighs 2.8 lbs. The bag is 10" deep and 12" wide approx. Thank you.
What size and thread pitch are the wing nuts on the telescoping fruit picker basket assembly? I'm going to buy a handful from the hardware store as spares. I was so engrossed at picking I didn't notice untill too late that one unscrewed and fell off! By the way, it is a great tool!!!
Pat, the diameter is 3/16" but I'm not sure of the thread pitch. Glad you like the tool!. Thank you
