Description
Dimensions: Measures 11 3/4” H x just under 6” Diameter and holds 1.75 liters.
Best Uses: Water conservation and plant health
Material: Terracotta
How to Use: Bury it in a planter or garden bed, leaving just the neck above the soil. As the soil around it dries, soil tension and plant roots pull the water out; when the soil around it is moist, the water stays inside the vessel. This consistent slow watering is also far better for the plants health as it creates a strong root structure. Brilliant, efficient, and simple.
Product Details: With much of the country in a multi-year drought, water conservation is on many peoples’ minds. This garden hydrator, made in England, is an efficient and sustainable method for keeping your garden beds and potted plants hydrated without wasting water.
Craftsmanship: Terracotta’s porous structure, which allows moisture to slowly seep out, has made it an excellent slow-release hydrator for thousands of years. (Research has found them used in North Africa and China 4,000 years ago.) Our version is made by a family-run business that has been making beautiful pottery in Staffordshire, England for many decades.

"Works great"
Works well
"So far, this watering system has worked well for me. I plan to keep it in the ground until the end of autumn. Does it need to be removed for the winter?"
Perfect Hydrator
"Works well and looks good!"
First shipment arrived shattered but
"First shipment arrived shattered but customer service was quick to send replacements with better packing which arrived safely. Lovely pieces and can't wait to settle them in my strawberry planters"
Great Ollas
"These are beautiful, arrived well packed and none were broken. The only criticism I had was that they did not come with a lid. I topped them with large flat rocks to keep the water from dissipating and mosquitoes from breeding."
Perfect large size
"I bought these for our garden beds and large planters. They are perfect! It was so hard to find watering pots that would hold more water as most I found only held 1-2 cups of water at a time. Thank you for making large ones!"
Love my ollas!!!
"This is my first time using ollas and I put them in my large pots in the front of our house to water California Native Cape Sébastien Daisies. The daisies were a bit droopy due to lack of me consistently watering them. The ollas have been in the pots for about 1 month and the daisies are doing great. We bought 6 more to use in large pots we have in our backyard and we can’t wait to use them :) I love the thought of not wasting water to keep our plants alive and well. We are planning on getting our vegetable beds ready and are getting rid of our drip hoses and replacing them with the olla system for veggie beds. I can’t wait! Such an ancient and wonderful idea."
They arrived unbroken- well packed.
"They arrived unbroken- well packed. I’ve placed them in containers but am waiting for heat to ease before I add plants."
Wonderful
"These have provided a wonderful way to more effectively deliver water “on demand” to the plants"
Like the Garden Hydrator
"I really like the Garden Hydrator. Wish it came with a lid. I found a lid that will fit. Am excited to use it."
