"I bought this thermometer for my 3 season room. It looked just as I expected right out the box. Unfortunately, the temperature fluid was defective. I called customer service, explained my problem with the thermometer, and within a few short minutes I was told that a replacement was being shipped. "The rod that runs the middle of the unit, and is threaded on both ends was too short, and it was very difficult securing the mounting brackets, and then threading the two finials. Otherwise, fine and accurate."

- Just bought this with the understanding that it was made in the USA. NOT. Will be sending it back. Very disappointed; was lead to believe it was American made.

- Re: Conant Vermont 12" Grande View Thermometer Before I possibly make a mistake in installing it, I need to know what the two little plastic parts in the bag with the screws are for.
- They are washers. They go between the screws and the bracket that attaches the thermometer to the house
