Description
This is a tough axe with great balance. The white oak handle is strong and comfortable. The 4-1/2" High Carbon steel blade has a "bearded" shape, which brings the center of gravity closer to your hand. The fully forged Japanese milled HighCarbon steel gives the super-sharp edge great strength. It will be particularly good for splitting kindling. Overall length: 13". This unusual design is based on an axe from the Kofun period in the 3rd Century. It's made for us by blacksmiths in the Niigata prefecture. Japanese tools frequently look different, but those that try them inevitably find them wonderful to use.
