This is a well-made hose rack. I have a feeling it’s gonna be up for quite a while.

The Construction

What Twenty-Year Hardware Looks Like

Cast Aluminum Hose Rack mounted on exterior wall showing curved shape

Solid Cast Aluminum

Not stamped sheet metal. Not hollow tube. These are poured, solid cast aluminum — up to 5/16″ thick. They will not bend under the weight of a full 100-foot hose.

The Curved Shape

The gentle curve is not decorative — it prevents hose kinking. Garden hose loops drape naturally over the curve without sharp bends that damage the hose lining over time.

No Corrosion, Ever

Aluminum does not rust. It develops a thin oxide layer that actually protects the metal from further corrosion. Rain, snow, sprinkler overspray — none of it matters.

Wall Mount, Walk Away

Two screws into a stud, a brick anchor, or a concrete sleeve. That is the entire installation. No moving parts, nothing to maintain. Mount it and forget it exists for the next two decades.

The Material

Cast Aluminum Does Not Fail

Sheet metal hose racks bend the first time you put a full hose on them. Plastic reels crack in the sun. Spring-loaded retractors jam after one season. The failure mode of every cheap hose rack is the same: the material is not strong enough for the job. Cast aluminum solves the problem by refusing to participate in it.

The larger rack is 5/16 of an inch thick. Pick it up and you will understand immediately — it weighs nearly nine pounds. The smaller rack is 3/16 thick and still feels substantial. These are not consumer-grade products. They are the kind of hardware you find on the side of a building, doing a job quietly for decades.

The Standard

The Last Hose Rack You Will Ever Buy

That is not marketing language. It is a statement of material fact. Cast aluminum does not corrode, does not fatigue, does not degrade in UV light, and does not care about temperature swings. Garrett Wade guarantees these racks because the material guarantees itself.

In twenty years, when you sell the house, the hose rack will still be on the wall. The new owner will drape their hose over it without thinking about it. That is the definition of hardware that works.

The Craft

Poured, Not Pressed

Casting is a fundamentally different process than stamping. A stamped rack is made by pressing flat sheet metal into a shape — the metal is thin, stressed at the bends, and prone to fatigue. A cast rack is made by pouring molten aluminum into a mold, where it solidifies into a shape with uniform thickness and no stress points.

The result is a rack that distributes weight evenly across its entire surface. There are no weak points. The curved shape that keeps your hose loops from kinking is also the shape that makes the rack structurally rigid. Form follows function, and both are permanent.

Common Questions

Before You Buy

The 16-inch rack holds 100 ft of standard 5/8-inch garden hose. The 13-inch rack holds 100 ft of 1/2-inch hose or 50 ft of 5/8-inch hose. If you have a standard garden hose and want room to spare, go with the larger size.

Each rack has mounting holes for screws. Use appropriate anchors for your surface — wood screws for studs, masonry anchors for brick or concrete. Mounting hardware for wood surfaces is included.

No. Cast aluminum does not rust. It develops a subtle oxidation layer that actually protects the metal. These racks will look essentially the same in 20 years.

Yes. These are solid cast aluminum. The larger rack weighs nearly 9 pounds on its own. Once mounted properly, it holds a full hose without flex or concern.

Hose reels have moving parts that jam, crack, and break — usually within a few seasons. A wall-mounted rack has no moving parts. Drape the hose over it and walk away. Nothing to crank, nothing to replace.

Mount It Once. Never Think About It Again.

Sturdy and Attractive Hose Storage

"These are extremely well constructed and will last a lifetime. I also think they are nice looking and the metal is shiny and thick. Looking forward to mounting them on a wood wall where i think the metal/wood combo will create an interesting design."

Great hose rack

"Well-made, sturdy and attractive utilitarian design. Have not hung the smaller one yet but I’m sure it will work well for our shorter hose."

Great Racks. . . . .

"Strong and beautiful. So far my only complaint is that I think it could have been designed to make installing with a drill easier. The screws went in at an angle because it's shape prevented easy installation. . . . . . . . . ."

The hose rack is very

"The hose rack is very attractive and functional. Unfortunately it didn't come with anything to hang it up with and the holes are situated so that it's almost impossible to get a power driver in there so I had to use a hand screwdriver which didn't work so great."

Mackie O. (3/5)

Very nice

"Very high quality hose holders, they are going to look geat in the yard"

Q&A

Can these mount to lap siding? All pictures, all hose racks are shown on flat surface/siding. Thank you
Bryon, yes they can be attached to lap siding. You would need to shim behind to keep it flat or span a couple of the lapping boards . Also. make sure screws pass into the substrate of your wall.
Do the hose racks come with hardware to attach to the home
Given the various locations and types of installations, we do not include hardware.
