The Shut the Box game is a classic pub activity that is also terrific for kids, since it’s not only great fun, but also teaches them math skills. Easy to learn, the play consists of rolling the included dice and then flipping over the numbered wooden tiles that match the total of the dice. The object is to be the first to flip all of your tiles, thereby “shutting the box”.
The physical action makes this extra engaging for all. It’s fun and it’s challenging. Up to four people can play, but it’s also great as a solitaire-type pastime as well. Measures 13½” square. Made of handsome walnut, with a felt-lined playing surface to roll the dice on.
