Description
This is a large version of the traditional Japanese Ryoba saw. Like it's name sake it has teeth along both edges of the blade - one side for crosscutting, the other for rip cuts. The saw cuts on the pull (not the push) stroke, so the blade is in tension during use, with bowing eliminated. The crosscut edge has 15 tpi to produce a fine, smooth cut. The rip edge teeth increase in size and spacing from heel to toe 10 tpi to 7 tpi to insure a smooth start to you cut. The 11-½” long blade gives you extra cutting length, Overall length is 29". This is a larger version of our popular 9-½” Ryoba Saw.

"Product is good however the Blade cover that previously shipped with saw was absent. This is a major oversight as this cover significantly protects the blade while not in use an prolongs its life. I have been a GW customer for decades. I purchased this saw at least 20 years ago. I wanted to give it as a gift. It needs the cloth cover."

- Two saws are shown in the image. However, only one saw is described. Is the price $67.50, for only one saw?
- Ruben, yes, the price of 67.50 is just for the 11 1/2" Ryoba saw. Thank you
- Sometimes double-sided saws can be quite floppy, which might be a problem for a long ripping cut where you need a straight line. Any advice? Should I choose a western style rip saw? Thanks, Nick
- Nick, Are you just ripping thick common lumber or sheets of plywood. If so a western saw might be the right tool. That being said, the Japanese saws are for more precise work,(cabinets, furniture and the like) are the tool to use. Although the blade may seem "floppy" it cuts on the pull and almost entirely eliminates binding and will give you a much straighter cut.
