Super bright for the size
"I've been loving this lamp to supplement the light put out by my dim ceiling pendant for meals - it's nearly as bright as the 40W Edison bulb in that, which is amazing given its minute size!"

We’ve had such a great response to our Extra Bright Brass Oil Lamps (78A05.02) over the years that we’ve sourced for you a version in polished nickel. These are the same dimensions, style, and quality craftsmanship as the brass versions.
These polished Nickel Oil Lamps are both 4" wide, but the Small Lamp is only 9" high, whereas the Large Lamp is 13". The fuel reservoir of the large lamp is larger as well, at two times the capacity of the small. What makes these particular lamps exceptional is their tall, narrow glass chimney, along with the special design of the wick and its unique elevation mechanism. The result is a much bigger flame that can actually extend all the way up the chimney, if desired, producing a surprising amount of light.
We are delighted by them because, although a modern design, they have the inherent charm of a 19th Century lamp but throw a lot more light. The solid Copper Filling Funnel (sold separately) is a helpful addition when adding fuel. Both will burn either standard lamp oil or kerosene (easily available locally)

"I bought both the small and the large oil lamps. These are beautiful and give off an incredible amount of light. The light is steady and consistent without flickering. The large one was flickering when I received it but the small one wasn't. When comparing them I noticed the large wick wasn't completely wrapped in a circle like the small one was causing uneven air flow. I refed the wick and boom! It stabilized. I love using these while reading my Bible at night, it really gives off great light and sets the atmosphere as if I were back in the days when reading with oil lamps and candles. It is bizarre looking at a flame that's completely still and doesn't flicker."
"I have the large version of this lamp, and love it, but there are some caveats: 1) It really does not like to burn kerosene. It does work, but it has the annoying property of repeatedly burning off all of the kerosene vapor, popping out, and relighting with a sound and a noticeable flicker. 2. Kerosene also makes the flame very sensitive to the trimming and exact angle of the wick, which changes as you raise and lower it. If it isn't perfect, one side of the flame is higher than the other, and it doesn't burn cleanly. 3) With lamp oil, adjusting the flame above halfway up the chimney only works for a few seconds before the wick burns down and the flame lowers. With kerosene, it can be adjusted to fill the entire chimney, but gets very sooty if you adjust it past about a third of the way up the chimney. All that said, it still is my favorite oil lamp. It just doesn't quite live up to the description."
"I have the brass small. This is so bright. Perfect to sit on a table on fall or winter nights. Great for emergency lighting. The small lights up my entire living room."
"This small lamp is wonderful to read or write to in the evenings, while sitting at a desk. A pleasure to use, and the nickel finish is easier to maintain than brass. A pleasure to use!"
