Description
This new French-made composter is made solely of galvanized steel and treated wood construction. Measuring 30” x 30” x 36” tall, it has a very large 124-gallon capacity with feet, trap door, and covers made of galvanized steel. No compost accelerator is required, as the open design provides plenty of ventilation. The wood slats are treated in an autoclave using a process that strengthens and preserves the wood with copper and ammonia. It is designed to be used all year long for many years and can handle any weather.
Composting your kitchen scraps, coffee, grounds, and yard refuse is a tremendous aid to both your home garden and our environment in general. It provides wonderfully fertile soil while keeping dangerous methane gases from forming in landfills. Assemble in minutes with just a Philips head screwdriver.

Reviews
"Its ok. It’s very flimsy. It’s insanely overpriced for what it is. It’s attractive. But I don’t think it’s gonna last more than a couple years."
Long-term
"It's early in the game, but the bin is so solid and easy to use I can imagine it'll be with us a long time. One day after assembly we have it in place and the beginning of a pile. Long may we compost!"

"Will be good for the use I have for it."
Great and good looking
"Works really well, looks good for a composting bin, no plastic, which is excellent. Great item"
A Beautiful Box
"A strong and sturdy environmentally safe product; an attractive addition to a yard. Well-designed for easy assembly and now I can't wait to harvest ""black gold"" when yard waste ripens!"
Price is high for what you get, but still a decent item
"Build quality is not as high as the price would suggest. I had to modify it a bit to make it sturdy. It's a good design, of decent materials, but a little flimsy in the out-of-the-box assembly."
must be perfectly level, door flimsy for heavy use
"Better for making lightweight leaf mold rather than compost. Door bent and would not close. We have a lot of rain and heavy clay, so when using this composter, the mixture can't include clumps of clay. Installation was fussy, has to remain perfectly level for slats to stay in position."
Went together well and looks great!
"There hasn't been enough time between setting the composter up and discovering how fast it works. I will say that I had two plastic composters that this one is replacing because the plastic ones were very slow to compost. And because they weren't well ventilated, gnats, fruit flies and regular flies gathered in them and were difficult to control. This composter went together well but if it's your first composter you will need to visit the company's website to view the instructions for composting. This composter was made in France and the instructions and guidelines are in French. This composter looks much nicer in my yard than the two plastic ones and has a smaller footprint but is taller so I anticipate producing my own garden soil at a faster rate."
Q&A
- How does the trap door open? Is that how you take the finished soil out?
- Ann, the door at the bottom is on 2 small hooks and can be lifted off, Alternatively, the soil can be extracted from the top . Thank you
