Description
This hefty Hatchet, great for clearing brush, splitting rounds or limbing trunks, also features a log-pick. The 3" long hook gives this hatchet a serious and striking appearance, while adding heft to your down swing when splitting and chopping. The sharp hook gives you the ability to easily collect rounds or drag small logs back to the campfire. The ergonomic curve of the 19-½" long American Hickory handle makes it balanced on the swing. Light enough to wield with one hand, but just long and stout enough for comfortable two-handed swings. Handle end is painted fire engine red for easy visibility. A striking new tool for serious work. A fantastic new offering from a venerable, fourth-generation German forge.

"Perfect size , well made"
"Well made product with a unique design. Like most axes, it needed fine tuning, but it took a file really well and did not take long to put the angle and edge on it. The hook needs a little more work. It will take a while to get used to how it swings since it is balanced a little different because of the hook. I bought it for an emergency axe in my truck, and expect it to be a handy tool for downed limbs."
"Hatchet size and weight is great for splitting kindling wood. Pick end will ""tag"" a larger log from off the log pile. Handle length can be used either single handed or when extra force is needed two handed. Great tool. ."
"Makes chopping fun and efficient."
"Excellent"
"Haven't used it yet but it looks and feels plenty sturdy"
"Splits firewood with ease. Well constructed."
"Well balanced, nice weight. Great for separating the two-fer pieces of stove wood not quite finished by the splitter. The pick is not as “sticky” in the log as the one on the small pickaroon, but it works. Good combo tool."
"Meets your description."
"He hasn't used it yet. I'm sure he'll like it as he's new to being a woodsman and doesn't have one of these. . ."
