Each piece is made of melamine, a recycled plastic that’s extraordinarily tough and scratch resistant. They look great and feel even better in the hand. The pieces are contained in a beautiful case that’s completely covered and lined in brilliant fabrics, and dual brass locking hinges keep your pieces secure. Surprisingly weighty and really striking to look at, this set just must be seen in person—we were really impressed the first time we saw it. The case measures 10 ½” x 8 ½” x 2” when closed, and each tile measures 1 ¼” x ¾” x ½”.

"To be perfectly honest, I play mostly American MJ so bought this set for the case, which I'll use for far more beautiful vintage tiles or contemporary artist-designed tiles. The set you are selling is only for Asian play - it doesn't have either the correct number or category of tiles for American play. Sets with 152 or more tiles that include 8 Jokers are what most players in the U. S. are looking for. Perhaps you could sell that in the future. I do play 2 versions of Chinese MJ, but again prefer more beautiful tiles. The case is the exquisite part, but the tiles are typical modern mass-produced tiles, and not particularly attractive."

"For the price you won't be disappointed and best of all they didn't ruin it plastering the Garret Wade name anywhere on it. I wanted a nice set for around the house but didn't want to drop a fortune. Units costing over $100 is outright crazy for a game. The set, especially the box the tiles are stored in is far better done than any other set I looked at. Sturdy and absolutely beautiful along with a nice set of tile. This will be proudly be displayed on the shelf with the other games for many years to come. I may even pick up a few sets for gifts."
