Designed in-house here at Garrett Wade, our USA made 31" Suede Shop Apron is made from comfortable, 1/16" thick split-leather cowhide with brass hand-riveted fasteners. The “X”-shaped cross straps disperse weight evenly, taking the pressure off the back of your neck, and are easily adjustable to fit most frames. Because we wanted to make it feel really great while working, we skipped the heavy waist level pocket as severely restricting easy movement, deciding instead on a center breast pocket, with sections for a phone, writing implement, pencil, notes, penknife, scissors, etc. The good looking vertical front seam is double leather reinforced.
We’ve put in a lot of time working in shops, and we believe this fills a need not met by other products. All in all, it’s a very handsome, rugged apron that offers great protection for your clothes and yourself. We love it. Good cost too.

New Shop Apron
"My old suede shop apron which I have had 40+ years was still serving me well, but the price was right on the Garrett Wade so I treated myself to it. However, it was too long for my taste so I cut 6” of the bottom. I like the fact that the pencil slots are protected and I won’t be breaking my newly sharpened pencil as often if at all. The pocket behind the pencil pocket doesn’t suit my needs so I have order a leather pocket protector from Amazon which hopefully will a useful addition after I secure it to the pocket behind the pencils. I keep a 6” ruler and a 6” hook rule besides a micro point pen, Milwaukee indelible marker plus a break-off razor knife (not a utility knife), I keep that on my trousers belt in a scabbard plus my 16’ tape measure. The piece of leather I cut off I have used a 1” strip to replace a strap handle on a CD pouch I also plan to use that leather to replace the handle on my canvas tool bag which after many years has frayed. I was a flight line mechanic in the USAF in the 50’s and I had a canvas tool bag (government issue) and I loved it. I bought a canvas tool bag 50 years ago and still use it today except the canvas handles have frayed and are worn out. I’m 87 and still do small jobs around my neighborhood. I tell my clients I’m 87 and I don’t do quick, I don’t do cheap and I don’t do cute."
