Generations of woodworkers, DIYers, and installation professionals got the job done with this manual drill and screwdriver set! Sadly, a few decades ago, the manufacturer stopped making these essential tools.
Garrett Wade has brought back both tools as a set! They are custom-made to our exacting specifications. They are exceptionally useful tools you'll use for decades. We think they should both be in every shop and job site tool bag.
Drill & Driver Details
Exceptionally well made with chrome-plated, solid brass, both the Yankee Screwdriver and Yankee push drill are beautifully finished. The Push Drill comes with eight traditional double fluted bits (1/16”, 5/64”, 3/32”, 7/64”, 1/8", 9/64”, 5/32”, 11/64"). As you push down, the bit rotates clockwise, cutting the hole. When you stop pushing, the handle springs up and the bit rotates in the reverse direction — essentially self-clearing. This set can make a hole up to 1-1/2" deep. The included drill drill bits are made as they were a generation ago, to clear chips efficiently. They are not twist bits, these are true double fluted bits.
The Yankee Screwdriver works in the same way, pressing in on the spring-loaded handle rotates the chuck to turns and drives the bit with minimal effort. Repeated presses will drive in your screw with ease, and a simple flick of a switch reverses the gearing for loosening and removing screws. Includes four bits to cover most common uses, including:
- 4.5mm Phillips/flathead
- 5.5mm Phillips/flathead
- Phillips 3S2 (blunt and wide)
- Size 7 flathead
With its built-in quick-release hex head, the Yankee Screwdriver will accept any standard hex bit from your collection. This model is identical to our previous one, apart from the addition of a brass chuck, which we quite like. It measures 9-¾” closed and 12-½” extended.

"These two are exactly as advertised. Just did a couple of small jobs that I have been putting off because I dreaded getting out the electric drill with all the paraphernalia. It was a 'Wham! Bam! All done, Ma'am!' kinda thing. I do not know why it took me so long to buy this set. Just being retired cheap, I guess!!!!! Two of the most useful tools in my traveling tool box. The drill bits cut through wallboard and wood with no problems and with panache. I was through the material before I knew it. The screwdriver is going to be named 'Zippy'. Zips those screws in and out with minimal effort. Do yourself a favor. Spend the money. Have someone gift you. Get them anyway you can, legally. These are worth it! Well made and I suspect they will be around a long time. Make sure you practice a bit to get use to the techniques. Instruction sheet included though it could use a bit more clarity."

- I received this set last Christmas and absolutely love how they work. However, the screwdriver has stopped holding onto the bit, so it keeps falling out while I'm trying to use it. It doesn't appear to be able to slide into the church far enough for whatever is inside to grab ahold of it. I slide the chuck forward when I insert the bit and let go when it's as far as it will go. Am I missing an important step?
