Description

A product of our partnership with a 4rd generation forge in Germany. The Forest Axe is a full-sized tree chopper with a 31½" Ash handle, a red steel safety collar and an extra thick neck

The Forest Axe is a hefty, full-sized tree chopper with a 31-½" handle, a 5-½" long cutting edge and an extra stout neck. This is the biggest axe in our selection, with its 8-½" head (from edge to poll) inches longer than comparable axes. Weighs 5.37 lbs. When you hold this axe, you just know it’s up to all of your felling and limbing tasks. It feels substantial in the hand—but not too heavy. The added heft of the longer and thicker head creates momentum on the swing, making the job go quicker. The woodchips will be flying.

The handle is European ash, a wood traditionally used for long tool handles for its durability and shock resistance. (The same reasons ash is commonly used in baseball bats). A red steel safety collar protects the top of the handle from potential damage caused by overstrikes. Made to our specifications in Germany by a well-respected foundry. Highly recommended. An excellent value.

Really Impressed!

"I was looking for a quality axe and took a chance on this since it was online and I couldn’t be happier!"

Axe 8/10

"Solid axe, very happy with the sharpness on the steel, haven't broke the handle swinging like i did with my last axe. The packaging was subpar but didn't bust through anything like others have said. All in all a great tool to add to the arsenal."

Very solid axe. Not only

"Very solid axe. Not only can chop and fell, but is heavy enough to split firewood if you don't have a splitting maul."

Kindling and Clearing Hatchet 27 inch

"My Kindling Axe arrived on time and packaged well without any issues. It is well balanced and very sharp. I used it extensively clearing small trees and overgrown thorn bushes through a wooded area to prepare the area for fencing and it worked great."

Item arrived damaged.

"The axe showed up damaged. It was packed in a box that was way too big with a couple of air pillows that the axe had no problem deflating and lots of room to slam around in. The box was full of axe shaped holes. Someone had reapplied tape at some point during transit. The blade had no problem punching through the sheath used for shipping. It looked like the blade came into contact with concrete at some point and had a significant chip in one of the points along with numerous scratches along the sides of the head. From a safety standpoint this was an incredibly irresponsible way to ship an axe. From a customer satisfaction standpoint this was an incredibly irresponsible way to ship an axe. When I returned the item I wrapped the head in some shipping paper I had laying around and had to apply a ton of packing tape to make the box safe for shipping. At the end of it all they refunded me the total cost of the axe minus shipping. The shipping method was the whole reason in needed a refund in the first place. I use axes at work and for personal use. I was pretty excited to have this axe as my edc axe. I was pretty excited to have found this website, they sell a bunch of stuff I use and have interest in. Unfortunately my first purchase from them has soured the whole thing. Giving three stars as the axe had a nice edge and probably would have been a nice axe. This complaint is all about the company that sold and shipped the axe, not about the manufacturer."

"Nice quality axe. Need a little sharpening."

Great Axe! The guard could use some work

"I think the Axe itself is good quality. I received mine with the sheath already ruined and the axe blade sticking through it. For such a good quality axe I would have liked a high quality thick leather or plastic hairs over the blade."

Nicholas, yes, carbon steel. Thank you.
