Description
On cold nights as early as the 17th Century, people would load up a metal box with coals and slide it beneath the covers of a bed to warm it up before bedtime. Setting aside the obvious flammable risks, it was cumbersome, and required a lot of preparation. Nowadays, we have the ubiquitous rubber hot water bottle, but here’s a unique, attractive twist on that idea: a Japanese made hot water bottle made from ribbed galvanized steel with a stylish retro look. This bed warmer will make your bed toasty warm, and the metal will hold the heat longer than rubber ever will. It has a rubber gasket and plug, a pressure release valve, a funnel for filling, and a metal loop for carrying or hanging when not in use. Stay warm this winter! Measures 12’ L x 8 ½” W x 3” D.

Just like old times!
"Who doesn't love slipping under the covers to a warmed up bed? Very sturdy construction and radiates the heat well."
Japanese hot water bottle
"After waking up to a soaked bed three nights in a row I decided to ditch the rubber hot water bottle and invest in this metal one. So glad I did. I thought the metal might feel non-snuggly, but actually its shape and size are just right to feel comforting, it is great for warming up the bed ahead of time. I wouldn't say it retains heat longer than the rubber ones. . . . but it doesn't leak! And I do like that it is super hot at first for warming up the bed. I like to have a cover on it, and having needle, thread, and fabric, that is pretty easy to make. I also have a need to warm my feet while sitting doing some work in a cold area. This hot water bottle is absolutely perfect for that use!"
Excellent Quality
"I bought two for my kids last Christmas. Truly turned out to be one of those unique and useful gifts they will have for many years to come. My only complaint isn’t really a complaint. It just would have been nice if it came with a classic melton wool cover like many traditionally used to cover them with to prevent burning the skin because it is scolding hot (obviously when you fill it with boiling water). I realized this ahead of time and had a family friend sew some really nice bags out of melton wool and another soft fabric. These things literally are still warm to the touch 18-24 hours later when left in the bags. Absolutely amazing classic gift."
Not yet tried, but . . .
"I bought this because my dear wife often has cold feet that inhibits her ability to drift off the sleep land. I have looked and looked for an appropriate cover, and nearly all are designed for traditionally sized and shaped water bottles. I did find a perfect one ostensibly sold by a fancy shop in the U. K. , Objects of Use, but can't get them to respond to my inquiries. Melton wool Yutanpo cover. . WG should offer something similar. DS"
Nice but not enough to replace rubber bottles
"I bought this thinking it would stay hotter, longer than my rubber/synthetic hot water bottle. It basically performed almost as well but the biggest detractor is that the metal gets very hot when initially filled. I made a small terry cloth bag to put it in so I could warm my feet on it in bed and that made it 'touchable'. It's very cool looking and super sturdy -- it just doesn't knock the rubber hot water bottles out of the running."
The Japanese Hot Water Bottle
"The Japanese Hot Water Bottle retained heat longer than I expected. It would be nice if it came with a thick cloth cover because when one first fills up the bottle with hot water 't's kind of too hot to handle, however, 't's easy enough just to use a towel = a very good product, comes in handy when one needs a little heat!"
