Description

This versatile cast iron tabletop vise features a double set of fully rotating jaws. It is 2-1/2" wide, with corrugated gripping surfaces, and three sizes of grooves to hold small round stock. It has a maximum opening width of 2 -¼”. A flat 1 x 2” area on top of the main body acts as a useful anvil-type surface, and the entire vise assembly rotates 360˚ on the base.

Notably, tightening the set of jaws onto your item (or tightening the base rotation lock) locks both of these rotations--a very handy and timesaving feature. The whole assembly clamps solidly to any surface up to 1- 5/8" thick (but also has 3 bolt holes for more permanent mounting).  This is a perfect “in-between” size--neither a big HD vise nor a small crafts vise, it has a huge range of functions, and is a real beauty that anyone with a small- to medium-sized shop will go to all the time. Beautifully thought through and a great value.

The vice is consistent with

"The vice is consistent with my expectations and appears to be a sound and versatile tool. You should probably know however, that the packaging in which it was delivered was so badly damaged it barely held together and you could see what the contents was without even opening the package. The delivery driver had just left it on my front porch as I stepped out, and I asked him what it happened to it. He indicated that he did not know and said he was surprised that “they even put it on my truck“ for delivery. I have attempted to include a photo below for reference. BC"

good vice, horrible shipping

"The vise is fine. However, I can't imagine a worse way to ship a large chunk of steel than how Garrett Wade sent me this vice. This vice was shipped in a very flimsy carboard box. The vice was not wrapped in any protective padding material of any kind. There was one very small and very thin piece of foam along one of the small walls of the shipping box. The other walls of the flimsy cardboard box had ZERO padding. When the vice arrived, it was protruding from many holes that had been punched through the flimsy box. Fortunately, the vice is made of steel and only had minor blemishes from this horrible packing job. Oh. . . and there were other tiny parts included in the box from totally unrelated items that I did not purchase (e. g. random rubber feet and lettering stencils). I have no idea why these extra items were in the box with my vice."

Nice Hobby Vice vs Dremel Multi- Vise

"After Month : I can think of several improvements. 1. The smooth set of jaws should be the same size as the multi fit ( rods etc ) jaws. 2. Both jaws are and odd size so selling magnetic/non magnetic, metal plastic or rubber jaw covers, would be an improvement. 3. Changing the design to deepen the table/ workbench clamp size would be an improvement ( My Dremel Multi Vice fits much larger Table/ Workbench edges though the all plastic design is why I purchased this. I have a plastic fold out table with 3/4"" plywood screwed to it. I had to cut off part of the table ( edgewise ) to fit this vice over the edge of both. For example I wanted to clamp a tool bit shaft, w/o scratching it, so I could work on it. I had to add some strip of self adhesive foam to the smaller set of jaws. Other than that unlike the Dremel Multi Vise it's all metal and I'm not afraid of breaking the plastic tightening screw."

Q&A

I just bought one from harbor freight IDENTICAL to this and had to take it right back. The website description says it will clamp to a surface 1 3/4in. The directions in the box says 1 5/8in. If it’s 1 3/4 it will fit on my table. If it’s 1 5/8 it won’t. Could you clarify please. Thanks
Jason, Ours is 1 3/4 but a very tight 1 3/4
Is this going to be back in stock anytime soon?
The new stock is scheduled to arrive on or about 6/25/21
can yiu rotate so the jaws lock at 90degrees, ie. half rotation?
Yes, you can rotate and lock any where in the 360 degrees.
