"This is a GREAT idea, because the smaller bits in any bit assortment are always the first to break, get damaged, or get dull, but I think the assortment would be better served if the counts of each bit were skewed in favor of the smallest bits, which break the most, so maybe 13, 13, 10, 7, 7, or something like that. . ."
Small drill bits with plenty of spares
"Worked fine for my small project repairing a speaker cabinet. I just needed them to drill pilot holes. I'm glad to have plenty of bits in case one breaks, but I wish I had double-checked the sizes first--I thought there were more sizes in the box. It only goes from 1/16 to 1/8 I suspect they are made in China, and the packaging is more serviceable than professional because the lid hits the longer bits when slid in place. I'm happy they were on sale when I got them."
Q&A
- The drill bit sets in the catalog here & in the catalog look great and all mention wood and metal, but even doing a search, I don't see any that mention brick. Any suggestions for the best bit set (hundreds not necessary) to be used on brick? I've gotten bits supposedly specifically for that purpose from Lowes, Home Depot & Ace - and literally NONE of them did as they were supposed to & eventually wore. Thanks!
- Hello Kathy, For drilling into brick, I recommend purchasing a masonry bit. The quality is top-notch, and like all other GW products, it comes with a 1-year warranty.
