This Adjustable Jar Opener opens everything with next to no effort. It looks and works a lot like a basic quick-grip clamp: adjust the jaw opening and fit your cap inside, then squeeze the ergonomic handle; the rubber-lined jaws grip the lid, and the whole mechanism allows you to provide far more torque than you could just using your hands. Effective for lid diameters 3 ¼” down to ½”, it’s great for everything from mason jars to toothpaste tubes. It’ll come in handy again and again.

"At first I had misgivings due to its all-plastic construction but after using it for a couple weeks I'm quite impressed at its ability to handle caps and lids of varying sizes, from 32-oz jar lids down to twist bottle caps. It's especially useful for bottle opening because most openers work better with larger-diameter lids. I wish this had come on the market years ago, when a lot of lids and caps were starting to be made with smooth rims, unlike the lightly serrated ones from decades ago,. It's maddening when you're in the midst of cooking when your hands are wet or a bit greasy and have to deal with a tight lid."
