Description
We’ve taken our popular Small Personal Machete and improved it. The shape of the short powerful blade is unchanged, but we’re using a tougher grade of steel. The handle is now made of Pakkawood, a resin hardened, weather-resistant, composite wood. It looks like an adornment, but that wire is all function. We’ve added a bolster to keep your grip in place – no matter how hard you swing. Go to town on weeds and branches, this machete can take it. Combined with its superb leather sheath, this is an awe-inspiring tool. Overall length is 16½". The 8Cr13mov High Carbon Stainless Steel Blade is 10½" long.

Machete
"Owned quite a few that didn’t hold up. This seems solid. We’ll see"
Great, quality tool
"My husband loves this new, small machete and uses it for cutting vines growing into the trees in our Florida home. It is very sharp and well balanced and easy to use. THANKS!"
Amazing machete
"Awesome! Sharp. Balanced."
A beautiful tool, hold on tight
"This tool is beautiful to look at and as rugged as a meat cleaver. I've been using it to make garden poles, loping of limbs from hardwood saplings up to 3/4"" in diameter. It makes the cut with usually with one swing. Very pleased. The one drawback is that the beautiful handle is slick, requiring wearing rubber or nitrile faced glove and gripping firmly."
Luv it !

Q&A
- Hi, From what kind of steel is this blade made and how much does it weigh? Thanks!
- Mike, The steel is 8Cr13Mov. Weigh 1.5 pounds
- What is the blade thickness
- Barco, the blade is 4mm. just under 3/16". Thank you
- In what country is machete made?
- Hello, The machete is of Asian origin.
- I'm curious as to why my "Perfect Balanced Short Bladed Machete" failed to have the wire-wrap at the base of the blade (at the end of the handle.) The text says "We’ve also reinforced the handle by wrapping it with a heavy-gauge wire. It looks like an adornment, but that wire is all function." Does the fact of mine lacking that feature mean that it has decreased functionality? And is that, perhaps, due to the sale price? I've just received it, but it every other way it appears (and feels) to be a superior product. (Both items I ordered vary in appearance from the photo.) In every other way it is a beautiful blade, and appears to match the photo. I have to say that while this item seems to otherwise be everything I could hope for or expect, this variation and the possibility of, using your own words, "decreased functionality", is disappointing, and will very likely prevent me from further orders. Respectfully, doug
- Dear Mr. Ross, Your comments were passed up to the co owner of Garrett Wade and his response is below: We removed the wire, beefed up the connection between the handle and the blade and changed the steel used in the blade to an even higher quality. We did this to improve performance and lower the cost. The wire wrapping added a lot of expense. So we redesigned it to maximize performance and keep costs in check. We mistakenly didn’t update the copy and image. We’re doing that now. I’m sorry for the confusion! I appreciate him flagging this.
