Yankee Hatchet with Belt Sheath Set
$79.95Description
This Steel hatchet is terrific around the house or the campsite. The Yankee Hatchet is small enough to toss into a backpack or bag for your next camping trip, and is great for splitting kindling, chopping small logs, etc. Use the poll to drive stakes or straighten bent tent poles. It comes with a small leather blade guard as standard, but we now have a USA-made custom full leather sheath with Brass star-rivets for it. A belt-loop allows for the sheath and hatchet to be carried comfortably.
Made to our specifications in Germany by a well respected foundry, each comes with a US-made leather sheath. Highly recommended.

hatchet
"terrific"
Overall good but some things could be better.
"All the quality seems good, but the belt sheath does not fit the hatchet well and the belt loop is very tight to the sheath. It’s going to take some braking in to have the hatchet secure (snap) easily and fit over a belt. Initially it was almost impossible to get it closed and there is an obvious bulge where the hatchet presses against the leather. The edge on the hatchet itself is not well or evenly ground. It will take some honing to get it into shape."
Built Well
"As described. Good tool and weight for utility day pack woods use. Red handle good to keep track of in snow."
Great Tool.
"Very versatile- good balance. Perfect for a variety of jobs."
