The design of this knife is a popular, English-style folding knife, but the execution, from the venerable French knife maker Le Fidele, is exceptional in the Thiers tradition. As a customary maritime knife, you will find a version of this in many countries, but none have such a beautifully detailed combination of horn, brass and leather. You may never have to cut rope or repair rigging at sea, but you will be proud to own this extraordinary knife.
This knife has grips of natural dark horn with a sheeps-foot profile blade, in two different sizes: 3" long or 2-5/8" long. We have carried this style of sailor's knife in the past but the details have not been as well executed. For example, the decorative brass anchors on the scales are inlaid by hand. This beautiful offering from Le Fidele is well worth it for its top-quality Thiers pedigree. Add our handsome and well-made leather knife sheath (5" long, 2-5/8" wide) with a belt loop and top security flap. The sheath is made in the USA.
