It lets out a constant low whistle, and will last a long time before it finally stops - at which point, you can just set it going again. Great fun will be had by all. We've never failed to see it bring forth lots of smiles. It's about as retro a counterpoint to today's electronic culture as can be had.

LARGE WHISTLING TOP
"To be honest. . . im going to keep the top but I had higher hopes for it. Its not as "" large "" as i thought it would be. It doesn't whistle it barely hums. For what it is, I think $35. 90 is excessive. My grandkids will like it so I will put it under the Christmas tree. This is the first item I have ordered from Garrett Wade that I am not completely satisfied with."

- I'm looking for a top or gyroscope a foot or more tall, that can be used as a prop in front of an audience of 200+ people. It needs to run for approximately 5 minutes, and then fall over. Any recommendations?
- Mark, the GW top is 8 1/2" high. it spins for a couple of mins before it stops . Probably not appropriate for your intended use. Sorry
