Description

Dimensions: Overall length of 46" x 10 1/2"

Best Uses: For tough bushes and bramble

Product Details: This powerful tool can handle almost anything. With an overall length of 46", an ergonomic Ash handle, and a heavy-duty all steel cutting head, it swings easily and creates plenty of cutting momentum. The 10-1/2" long blade is double edged, and the hooked design helps with dragging out cut branches and other detritus. It's ideal for rough cutting of thorn bushes and brambles or simply as a quieter manual alternative to noisy, powered brush cutters.

Note: You will need to attach the head to the handle with a #4 wood screw, max length ½” -or something close (not included).

Quickly open up trails or clear thicket with this heavy-duty tool--it's built to take down the tough stuff and reclaim land from thick brush and weeds. We like it a lot because it is such a powerful natural extension of your arm. Made in Germany.

Great Hook

"This is a very well made all around tool. It has good balance and swings easier than other brush axes. It is kind of a hybrid of a mowing scythe and a normal brush axe. The head needs some touch up sharpening to begin with. Use a single cut mill file and a vise and it takes a mean edge. Highly recommended for use on vegetation from grass up to 4inch saplings."

good for brush clearance. Had

"good for brush clearance. Had to assemble hook to handle. Handle good solid wood. Hook appears well made but needed sharpening on both the flat back edge and the curved hook portion. well made and functional."

brush tool

"very good item to have for clearing brush and vines"

Great tool for clearing brush, small vines and weeds.

"PSA for everyone, any bladed tool you buy should be sharpened (by you or someone that knows how) before use. This tool is plenty sharp and fit for use new but it's always good to have new tools sharpened that depend on the blade to do the work. New tires eventually need air correct? Bladed tools need upkeep and sharpening. If the mount screw does happen to back out, remove it all the way, add a dab of wood glue/gorilla glue in the hole and screw it in again. Swinging this tool is like swinging a golf club or bat towards the ground or base of the weed/vine you want to clear. Chop motions, watch out for your feet. Pretty simple."

This Brush Clearing Tool is a Must!

"This is one of the best gardening tools I own. Think of a funky looking axe with multiple edges on a long handle. It rocks. However, the handle was a problem for me. Broke 2 in record time. Made the 3 myself. That's the only reason for the ""Good"" and not ""Great"""

Brush cutter

"This is a nice tool to have for cutting briars and high weeds also some small saplings. The only thing I didnt like was the one screw that holds the head to the handle. I did drill out the hole of the one and added a second one and put a couple threaded bolts and nuts on it. That will hold the head on secure better tan one small screw. Other than sharping it thats all you have to do to start using it."

Great tool for heavy hitters.

"I love this thing. I did have to put a heavier screw in the handle but that was minor. I have cut through a ton of undergrowth. (I live in a very overgrown lowland. ) I regularly hack through vines, thorns, branches, and undergrowth easily as thick as 1 inch. This item cuts it all very well. I've broken 2 handles but I don't blame the product. I blame myself for over-testing the capabilities. I've found replacement handles on other sites. I highly recommend it if you have some strength and size to wield it. Even with its sharp blades, it is a tool that requires significant force."

Excellent customer service and product

"We initially only received the handle and not the hook. But one call to Garrett Wade and they shipped out the missing item the next day. The hook works awesome! Great experience and great product."

It’s on its way back to you

"I am returning this - when I put its together and swung it a few times, I realized it is not going to work for me…. maybe a bigger talker stronger person? Thanks."

How heavy is this tool?
Annie, the clearing hook weighs 2 1/2 lbs. Thank you
My Brush Clearing Hook didn't come with a screw to attach the steel head - can you advise the spec of the screw that should be used to attach the cutting head securely?
Hi Zach, We're sorry to hear that it didn't come with the necessary screw. We're finding out from our product specialist which size you will need, and will be back with an answer soon. Thanks for your patience.
