Red Steel ""Torpedo"" Tool Box

"It's a great box, but could be a little deeper. Love the absence of plastic, hence no Caution signs about toxic materials. The clasp could be made of a slightly thicker gauge metal to ensure it's longevity. My box was shipped without padding, which resulted in a partially bent clasp. I straightened it using pliers. I hope the clasp holds up. Thanks!"

Great gift item!

"That red steel torpedo tool box is an item every man should have! I bought 3 of them as Father's Day gifts for my older son and a couple of grandsons, together with that super special deal on drill bits. Told them they'd likely never need to buy more!"

I like it. It is

"I like it. It is a gift for a grandson. Unfortunately I had to return it due to a dent in the cover. I re-ordered and am now waiting for the replacement. I love that your company name is proudly fastened to the cover."

Bought a a gift

"Purchased this box to use as a presentation box for some of my dad’s old tools and hunting knife to give to my grandson-in-law to use now and then pass on down to his son so he’ll have tangible memories of his great, great grandfather. The box itself is beautiful, well made, and sturdy, but a store I. D. Label - the cheap kind with adhesive that won’t come off - was plastered to the end of it. Hot soapy water wouldn’t remove it; I carefully tested a very small spot on the bottom using nail polish remover but abandoned that idea as it fills the shiny finish. Ah ha, I thought - goo be gone! However, although it got the sticker adhesive off using a little elbow grease, you can still see where the sticker was AND it started to remove a chip or the red paint at the corner of the lid. I’m very disappointed that such cheap sticky labels were applied to this tool box instead of the ones that peel off nicely without leaving a sticky residue. For the price of the tool box, I would think the company would use the probably more costly label that comes off cleanly. And asan after thought, I imagine that if my efforts to remove the adhesive resulted in chipping off the paint, everyday use in an actual shop May result in chipping off more paint. But maybe that’s what gives it character over time…. Time will tell."

"Well made, classic metal toolbox. Gave each of my three college age children (daughter and two sons) one with basic tools inside for Christmas which they loved. The classic symbol of self reliance for young adults."
