Description

With a body of cast iron, a 1/8" thick blade, and brass knobs and brass cap, this is a tool that has the heft and steadiness to allow you to do good work no matter what the direction of the grain. Derived from the geometry of the historic Stanley 60-1/2 this style is arguably the single most useful and versatile woodworker's iron block plane available--no matter what the maker. And the adjustable mouth adds significantly to achieve very thin shavings if desired.

Top notch

"Love this block plane, not only does it work perfectly, but it’s comfortable to hold and well-balanced."

Christopher P. (5/5)

Worth it's weight in brass.

"Well balanced and properly heavy. Fit well in my hand. Mouth moves easily in the body. A 1/8"" iron is a real plus. The only ""negative"" is that the iron required a fair amount of lapping and sharpening."

Ron S. (5/5)

I would give 6 stars

"I would give 6 stars but it took much longer to sharpen the iron because Adrian it was blunt. It took 3 hours to flatten the sole. Now it’s a wonderful plane. Thanks Keenan Kelly"

Nice solid tool with good

"Nice solid tool with good feel and cutting action"

Very nice block plane

"I like the weight of the plane and how it fits neatly against the palm of my hand. I have always used older Stanley and Bailey planes, one being a SW nickel knuckle locking top. This plane actually feels solid and may become my new favorite at this point. Everyone talks about LV and LN planes, and they are beautiful tools. Out of the box, I did a minor blade adjustment and it cut so smooth! No chatter, minimal tear out, and great glide on the surface. I will be fine tuning the cutting edge for my needs, but seriously I am very happy with this purchase."
