This Patio Sweep is made using hand-rolled and hand-tied broomcorn. The lovely fantail pattern of this handmade broom is common in traditional Appalachian and indigenous crafts. The distinct bend of the wood handle is from mountain laurel, making each broom unique. Use it to sweep up the patio, deck, or steps. When the weather turns cold, bring it inside and use it to sweep cinders and ash around the wood stove or fireplace. One thing’s for sure, this beautiful hand-crafted broom will be a conversation starter.
This gorgeous hand-woven sweeping broom is an example of the ancient art of broom-craft and was hand-made at a small college in Kentucky. Part of the school’s philosophy states that “lessons learned through the work of the hands ... nurtures the development of complete thinkers, who remain connected to the world around them.” We couldn’t agree more. It’s a beautifully long-lasting broom that supports a great mission.
