From Thiers To You: Rescuing Vintage French Knives

Several years ago, while visiting some of our long-standing factories in France (the makers of our Anchor Knife and the Secret Knife), we stopped at a third generation knife maker and kitchen supply company in Thiers. It was one we hadn’t been to before.

Finding a collection of pristine, unused knives with a rich history is definitely a memorable experience. When we found these, we knew our customers would appreciate them. Acquiring these vintage knives allows you to not only appreciate the craftsmanship of the past but also enjoy their practical use in your everday and modern cooking techniques.

The Thiers region, known for its cutlery production, is highly regarded in the culinary world. Owning knives that top chefs once sought after gives you a connection to that culinary tradition and heritage.

These knives are designed and manufactured using traditional methods. They offer a blend of history and functionality. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in their creation have stood the test of time. Despite being made in the "old ways," they can still meet the needs and requirements of modern cooks. The fact that they were stored away as "dead stock" means that they remained untouched and preserved, making them even more desirable.

By taking home one or more of these knives, you not only add a valuable piece of history to your collection but also acquire a practical tool that can enhance your culinary endeavors. These vintage knives are in limited supply so don't wait, because when these treasures are gone they are gone forever.
