"The 3-jawed chuck does a fine job of gripping round-shafted bits. It completes the capabilities of the versatile brace, which comes with a 4-jawed chuck. The price of my 3-jawed chuck was right (free), due to Garrett-Wade's exemplary customer service. I had managed to break the original 4-jawed chuck, by overpowering it with an Irwin 1-inch ship auger. I asked customer support for a replacement, and also ordered the 3-jawed chuck. Garret-Wade sent a new brace, with a 4-jawed chuck, plus the 3-jawed chuck, at no cost to me. That was generosity beyond-the-call."

- Vincent, it threads on. The diameter of the male part is 1". Dont have information about the thread size or pitch. Thank you.
