Description
Japanese craftsmen make frequent use of a special "non-backed" single edge saw to cut off absolutely flush fastening pegs and dowels, through tenons, and get rid of other exposed "waste" parts of joints. The saw has an extremely flexible, thin blade and is specially filed with no set so it won’t mar the adjacent surface.
Flush Cut Saw Details
The Japanese flush cut saw features a 6" long 24 tpi blade that tapers slightly toe to heel. The overall length measures 16-1/2", and weighs in at 2 oz. You can find it sold separately here and as part of the Set of 4 Japanese Saws.

"Does the job easy to use good flush cuts"
"Great saw for those flush cutting jobs- just don't try using it for major cross-cutting. I did put a piece of electrical tape down the length of the saw, just above the teeth, to increase clearance and that worked well. Another specialty tool that actually works!"
