Netherton Spun Iron Pie Pans
These two beautiful UK made spun iron pie pans produce great results whether baking pies in your home oven or heating up an outdoor meal over a fire on your next camping trip (where you can also use them as dinner plates). The spun iron and overall craftsmanship make them virtually indestructible pans that produce incredibly tasty pies! Spun iron is formed by spinning a disc of iron on a lathe and forming it over a mold. The result is much lighter than cast iron (generally half the weight), but like cast iron it heats quickly and holds heat beautifully. It’s also nearly indestructible, making it something you’ll want to pass down from generation to generation. These pans will produce the most delicious pie crusts that are sure to be the talk of the holiday!
Pre-seasoned with flax oil, it will season further the more you use it, eventually developing a virtually non-stick surface. Made in Shropshire, England. The two sizes are 10⅝” Diameter x 1 ¼” Deep, and 12⅝” Diameter x 1¼” Deep.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Our Maker
We recently partnered with the Netherton Foundry to produce a select assortment of cookware exclusively for us here at Garrett Wade.
Black spun iron, one of the best cookware materials today, is an alternative to cast iron, which has historically been used in cookware. Spun iron is created by spinning discs of iron on lathes and then forming them over molds. It is superior to cast iron in one major way: It is a lot lighter than cast iron, usually 50% of the weight. You will no doubt appreciate this when you’re moving your rustic black iron cookware from your stove or oven to a countertop or tabletop.
